Qingdao 417Because of the lack of proper shoes and despite the heavy rain outside, we were forced to go to the center to find ones. And to be completely efficient, we decided to go where last time we found those amazing flat crispy sesame cakes and why not also near to the Ajisen Ramen (I'm asking myself ; how much is it in Japan? Because, it's Japanese, right? But here it's really cheap!). So we took a taxi (no choice with this rain, beach shoes and only one umbrella) heading to the center shopping pedestrian street... It was freezing, wet, hard, and I really couldn't walk with the opened beach plastic shoes, but seriously we couldn't find one place with cheap and useful ones... So... Wal'mart here, we can hear you calling! And thanks to Fanny who recommended this kind of cheaper and better Carrefour, I finally found tennis like Vans I wore for like... 10 years, and a belt for my 3€ dress looking like a potato bag before... Then we ate at the Ajisen Ramen mentioned before, took a taxi again, went home and just red for hours the cheapest books ever found in the bookstore the day before.
After awhile, book finished and following tome to buy... despite the rain and all, we walked in the streets until we found the little park with temples at the very top Qingdao 427(high one) we saw from the hotel and in fact from all the town. The way up was hard, really... but in the end the view was worthy, beautiful. Of course some shops at the top, at EACH floor of the temple, and those ******* little foxes made us pay water like gold dishes, but it was still beautiful, and funny because James told before that they easily could sell water at 5 RMB (instead of 1 or 2 at least) and that everybody was forced to buy it!.. WHatever...
On the way back we took a little street passing by some beautiful houses and one with a fig tree with big and beautiful and tasty and... hum... figs. Hopefully we had a string on the umbrella so we succeded taking 2 or 3 figs... People passing by laughed at us but some looked like they REALLY wanted to do the same...
At the hotel, not brave enough to defy the rain, we decided to eat at the hotel "restaurant". Disgusting and expensive are the two words I'll use to describe it. Moreover the service was poor and there were nobody in the restaurant (no clients but us). But we had our little "distraction"... Going out of the toilets my feet has been taken in the damn strupid carpet and I felt miserably on the right knee. That was awful, disturbing and really, really painful. Whatever... but at least the breakfast rocks!
